Checkbook iPhone App

iReconcile is the successor to Checkbook for iPhone and iPod Touch.  We have been listening to your comments and suggestions, and we are pleased to announce that we have finished building the best finance management app for iPhone and iPod touch.  We started with the features currently available in Checkbook, and then looked at all the suggestions from current Checkbook users to create iReconcile.

 Why is this a new app instead of an update to Checkbook?

Checkbook is a great simple finance management app, but it was not originally designed to support all the advanced features that everyone has been looking for.  Due to technical reasons, it was impossible to simply "update" Checkbook with all those new features.  So, we decided to start fresh.  Although many features look similar to Checkbook (such as the transaction register), that is where the similarities end.  iReconcile was completely rebuilt from the ground up, and its packed with some pretty cool features.

 Can I move my data from Checkbook to iReconcile?

Of course you can!  We have made it very easy to transfer you're existing Checkbook data into iReconcile.  As of Checkbook r2.2.7.2, you have the functionality necessary to convert and move your data from Checkbook over to iReconcile.  There is a video tutorial that details the steps to convert your Checkbook data to iReconcile.  You can watch this tutorial in the iReconcile app under Video Tutorials, or go to www.iReconcile.com.

 What can iReconcile do that Checkbook can't?

Most of the functions have been rewritten, so there are many areas that have been improved.  Although they are not all listed, below are a few key features that are new to iReconcile:

• Look-ahead (view your register as it will look in the future based on your scheduled transactions)
• Search transactions
• Automatic and continuous syncing between multiple devices
• Sharing accounts with other users
• Continuous backup with automatic restore
• Watch video tutorials right inside the app

• linked transfers (changes to one side are reflected in the other)
• Auto-category (select a payee, and category is automatically filled)

 Can I keep using Checkbook? 

Of course.  If you are happy with Checkbook, you can keep using it.  You can think of iReconcile as the "new version" of our finance app.   As with the new version of any software package, you can continue using your existing application, or upgrade, your choice.

 

 If I currently own Checkbook, do I have to pay for iReconcile?

Yes, but you will have the opertunity to purchase iReconcile at a discounted price.  Until the end of the year, iReconcile will be on sale for a discounted price of $2.99.
